Many of us did not receive the love and attention that we deserved in our childhood. This caused our emotional needs to stay unmet by our parents and caregivers. Many of us had to reparent ourselves as we grew up to meet our emotional needs. “Reparenting can help you process and sort through your emotions, set boundaries with yourself and others, create healthier relationships, strengthen your communication skills with others, and begin healing your own inner child,” wrote Therapist Mary Beth Somich as she explained ways by which we can reparent ourselves.(Unsplash)
